Oakmont Education
Explore Iowa's 329 school districts and charter schools with a page: the 325 public school districts and the four charter school organizations that ran a school in 2024–25, with official sources from the Iowa Department of Education (DE), the Iowa Department of Management (DOM), the Iowa School Performance Profiles and the federal school directory (NCES). Directory identities are from NCES 2024–25, joined to DE by its four-digit district number; this is not a current operating-status certification. Iowa's nine Area Education Agencies (regional service agencies), six state-operated programs and three charter organizations not yet open in 2024–25 are listed without a page. Spending comes from each district's Certified Annual Report for fiscal 2021–22 to 2024–25, its own report to DE (not an audit), by fund, function and object. Spending per student divides General Fund spending by certified enrollment (the students a district is responsible for, including those it pays another district to teach); the division is ours. School property tax rates by fund come from DOM for the budget years 2001–02 to 2026–27, in dollars per $1,000 of taxable value; the uniform levy is set by state law and the additional levy by the state school aid formula (Iowa Code 257.3 and 257.4), each levy is grouped by who sets it as its Iowa Code section says, and a tax rate is not a tax bill. Salaries are from DE's 2025–26 files, which name no one; an average of one or two people is not shown. Test results are Iowa's statewide assessment (ISASP) for 2024–25; graduation is the class of 2025 (four-year) and of 2024 (five-year). Iowa's school ratings are its own and are never compared across school types. Charter schools and districts that send most of their students to another district are not ranked with K–12 districts. Figures DE suppresses for fewer than 10 students, and masked lunch counts, are not shown. Withheld figures do not mean zero.
