New Hampshire School District Spending & Outcomes — 209 Districts

Explore New Hampshire school finances, town tax rates and outcomes from official NH Department of Education (NHED), NH Department of Revenue Administration (DRA) and NCES sources. Directory identities and agency status are from NCES 2023–24 (2024–25 for two charter schools that opened after it), joined to NHED by the state's own district number; a district NCES does not yet list is not published. Spending and revenue by source are the district-reported DOE-25 annual financial reports, 2012–13 to 2024–25, as NHED compiles them (charter schools from the same cells of their own DOE-25 reports, in each year those cells are proven to match NHED's compilation); they are not audited. Line items by function, level and object and the general fund balance sheet come from each district's own DOE-25 for every year from 2012–13 to 2024–25, and school-level spending and contracted services over $25,000 from 2018–19, when the form added them. Cost per pupil is NHED's own measure, FY2008 to FY2025 (the FY2008 and FY2015 files print district names without numbers and are joined by exact name, one to one, or withheld); NHED compares it only between districts with the same grade range, and a district that operates no school has none. The school tax surface is DRA's four-part town rate (municipal, county, state education, local education) for 2025 and 2024, per $1,000 of assessed value, with NHED's valuations and local-education assessments for 2024–25 and 2023–24 and state adequacy aid: the grant to the district for FY2022 to FY2027, and each member town's own grant for FY2015, FY2016, FY2018 and FY2022 to FY2027; a town's whole grant is credited to a district only when every membership record names that district alone. A cooperative district's pooled rate is not a rate anyone pays, so each member town's own rate is shown instead, and negative rates are shown as DRA published them; every town's rate is also on the statewide tax page. Students, staffing and salaries are NHED's October 1, 2025 reports: enrollment, enrollment by race and ethnicity by school (a blank NHED cell is treated as suppressed, never zero), free and reduced-price meal eligibility, English learners, class size, staff FTE, student-teacher ratio, teacher degrees, average teacher salary for 2012–13 to 2024–25 (years before 2022–23 joined by exact district name, one to one, or withheld), and administrator salaries by School Administrative Unit, which belong to the SAU and are shown as the SAU's. Outcomes are the 2026 statewide assessment, all tested grades and grade 11 (the SAT School Day), joined by exact school and district names because NHED publishes no identifiers in that file; a banded or suppressed result is withheld, never estimated. Advanced Placement, dual enrollment and suspensions are from the federal Civil Rights Data Collection 2023–24. NHED's 2024–25 attendance report lists no district rows, so no attendance rate is shown. NAEP results are statewide context only. Each field retains its source period. Withheld figures do not mean zero. New Hampshire tax grievance and civic audit packs are unavailable.
