Michigan Data Desk
Find the records behind a local education story. Start with a jurisdiction, inspect the reporting period and definitions, and download evidence you can check and cite. Coverage is source-specific. Missing or suppressed values are not zero, and similarly named measures are not necessarily comparable across states.

- Limitation
- CEPI Financial Information Database (FID), FY2025 (2024-25), as each district reported it: expenditures by fund, function and object, summed over grant codes; the General Fund (11) is shown by function and object subheader, every other fund by function with its objects combined. Revenue is by fund and major class; CEPI books revenue as negative credits, shown here as positive amounts. The full object and grant detail is in the pinned CEPI files.
- Limitation
- Rutherford Winans Academy did not submit its FY2025 financial data to CEPI by MDE's deadline (Bulletin 1014 FY2025 reader note: its State School Aid payments are withheld until it files), so its spending figures stop at FY2024.
- Limitation
- Hold-harmless homestead operating millage (levied by a few higher-spending districts) and intermediate school district millages (special education, career-technical and regional enhancement) are not in Treasury's school-district comparison reports, the files this page reads. They are levied and published; this page does not show them yet.
- Limitation
- Youth Advancement Academy is a public school academy: it has no taxing authority and levies no millage. It is funded by the state foundation allowance and federal and other revenue; the property taxes paid by its students' families go to the local district and ISD where they live.
- Limitation
- Michigan publishes no central file of superintendent or principal pay. The State School Aid Act (MCL 388.1618) requires each district to post its superintendent's compensation and every employee paid over $100,000 on its own website; MDE does not collect them, so no figure is shown here.
- Limitation
- MDE's Bulletin 1014 export has no average teacher salary for Windover High School: MDE computes it from teacher salaries in the academy's own books and REP teacher FTE, and teachers employed by an academy's education service provider (management company) are not in those books. The ESP's reported teacher salaries are shown under spending; CEPI's ESP file has no FTE, so no average is computed here.
- Limitation
- CEPI's 2025 graduation and dropout report has no district row for University Yes Academy, so no graduation rate is shown.
- Limitation
- MI School Data publishes M-STEP, PSAT and SAT results by district and school only as per-report downloads or a statewide data file delivered by e-mail (re-checked 2026-09-29: no bulk file). No test score is shown.
